Webview - Lab results over the Web!

08/12/09 Summit View Clinic has always been at the leading edge of technology. We are pleased to offer the delivery of lab results via Webview to those who would prefer to get their labs over the internet. The advantage is you can get the results from any internet location and the results will be available as soon as the physician reviews the results. To view your results (assuming you have signed up for Webview communications) you must log on to the website with your given name and password to view the results. This allows HIPAA compliant viewing of medical information. We hope this will enhance your healthcare experience at Summit View Clinic. Currently Dr. Egge and Dr. Marsh are exploring this method of lab delivery and working out any problems.

To obtain a copy of the Webview E-mail Communication Disclosure Form click here. Please bring it with you on your next visit and we can sign you up for Webview communications.

William G.Marsh MD - 2008 Family Physician of the Year

William G Marsh MD

Dr. Marsh received the award at the Annual meeting of the Washington Academy of Family Physicians. Below is the text from that award. Congratulations Bill!

The Washington Academy of Family Physicians is proud to honor William G. Marsh, MD as its 2008 Family Physician of the Year. The award recognizes not only Dr Marsh's 30 years of caring and compassionate service to his patients in Puyallup, but also his dedication to family medicine, and his contributions to developing and improving the profession for future physicians and their patients.

Dr. Marsh has been caring for Puyallup residents at Summit View Clinic since 1978, serving literally generations of local families. Council member and former Mayor Michael Deal "believes that Bill is an outstanding doctor and member of the Greater Puyallup area. He is known throughout Puyallup as a caring and compassionate physician who exemplifies the best in patient care and in the practice of good medicine."

Dr. Marsh has served the Washington Academy well, as a member of the Board, as President, and President of the WAFP Foundation and as a result has mentored many young physicians and residents, who have themselves, become leaders in the Academy. Under Dr Marsh's leadership of the WAFP Foundation an endowed Family Medicine professorship was established at the University of Washington School of Medicine, as well as an endowed Family Medicine scholarship for fourth year medical students.

Dr Marsh's dedication and commitment have made him a respected leader, and his character and integrity are admired by those with whom he has worked. Mark Ganz, President & CEO of The Regence Group says, "Bill Marsh is a man who exemplifies the finest qualities of a servant leader. I believe he sets the kind of example that deserves a spotlight, even if he does not seek it."

Dr. Marsh is an inspiration for selfless service to his patients and his community. The WAFP commends and thanks him for exemplifying the values of family medicine in Washington.

Web site

This Web site was started on May 13, 2000.  We hope you will find it useful.  As it expands and becomes more comprehensive, we hope it helps us provide you with better information for your healthcare. In January 2007 we expanded the site and gave it a new "look and feel" with improved navigation. I hope the menu system makes it easier and it certainly will give us the capability to add more pages of information in the "your health" section. All the pages have been updated where needed. The new site will give us the capability for News Alerts on any page (such as closed for snow, etc) and the ability to edit the site from multiple locations. If you find errors or have suggestions for the new site please contact me (Dr. Egge) via the feedback page

Quality of Care

Summit View Clinic is participating in a national study funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) through the Medical University of South Carolina Department of Family Medicine called A-TRIP.  The study is aimed at improving the quality of care with measurable outcomes. We are proud of our participation and will be utilizing information gained through this study to improve our patient care in keeping with our mission statement.  You will be noticing some new brochures called "Partners in Health".  Please take a look at it (you will need Adobe Reader to download and view).  This sort of Quality Improvement is possible because of the Electronic Medical Record we have implemented at Summit View Clinic.  Please visit the A-TRIP study website for more information (follow link).

Employment opportunity

Periodically there are positions open for employment.  Please see employment page for latest offering.

We are Paperless!!

Summit View Clinic has implemented a new billing and medical charting system that provides the framework for  better medical care.  The software we have chosen, after extensive review, is Practice Partner ( www.practicepartner.com ).  We started on this software in April 2001.  The Advantages will include an interface with the lab for timely results, better management of chronic medical problems with a better ability to follow and graph lab values, and a better billing system with integration of diagnostic codes from the medical record to the billing software.  We hope this implementation will allow us to be more efficient and take our patient care to an even higher level. The software is being improved upon all the time.  We just underwent another upgrade as of November 2006 we are on the latest version (9.3.1) and the upgrade included a new server.  We hope that the upgrades will allow us to utilize more components of the software.
